BOY SCOUT TROOP 500, SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
Meeting Minutes - 7/16/08

Opening: 
The regular monthly meeting of the Troop 500 Committee was called to order at 7:05 p.m. in the Rosary Room at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Present: 
Ron Aguirre, Mark Rayfield, Darlene Whitley, Linda Zaiontz

  1. Scoutmaster’s Report: 
    1. Mark Rayfield reported that 7 scouts and 2 adults participated in the Schlitterbahn Water Park day trip on June 17th; 2 scouts and 2 adults participated in the Canyon Lake day trip on June 18th and 7 scouts and 4 adults participated in the Canyon Lake campout June 20 – 22nd.  He stated they fished, swam and ate.  Darlene Whitley recommended that the troop reimburse each adult who drove for the trips $20 for fuel cost.  Linda Zaiontz made a motion to reimburse the adults who drove.  Mark seconded the motion.  The motion was unanimously accepted.  Ron Aguirre stated that Al Puente paid $20 for the Park fees, which was $5 per car and there were 4 cars.  Mark stated he needs to be reimbursed $36 for the processing fee for Potters Creek and Enchanted Rock.  Darlene will meet with treasurer, Angelo Armondo, for the checks.
    2. Mark reported that 4 scouts participated in the Merit Badge University. 
    3. The first taco Breakfast will be September 14th.  The next breakfast will be October 19th.
    4. Popcorn should be ordered the first of September.  The scouts will sell popcorn October 26th.
  2. Treasurer’s Report:
    1. Angelo Armondo was unable to attend.  He will give the treasurer’s report to Darlene.
  3. Committee Chair’s Report:
    1. Darlene reported that the new Adult Applications from the Scout Office have a page that one of our new adults needs to sign.  She gave the new copy to Mark.
    2. Darlene ordered 55 cases of poinsettia plants from Kleypac Greenhouse.
  4. Adjournment:
    1. As there was no further business, Mark made a motion to adjourn, Ron seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously accepted. The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.  The next meeting is scheduled for the third Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Rosary Room.
