BOY SCOUT TROOP 500, SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
Meeting Minutes - 3/26/08

Opening: 
The regular monthly meeting of the Troop 500 Committee was called to order at 7:05 p.m. in the Healing Room at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Present: 
Ron Aguirre, Kathy Andersen (Unit Commissioner), Angelo Armondo, Al Puente, Darlene Whitley, Linda Zaiontz

  1. Scoutmaster’s Report: 
    1. Mark Rayfield was unable to attend the meeting due to work obligations.  Ron reported the campout this weekend will be to Coleto Creek Park.  They will visit Goliad State Park for the Historical reenactments. Four scouts and four leaders are planning to participate.
    2. Al reported that seven scouts and six leaders participated in the campout February 29 – March 2nd at Guadalupe River State Park.
    3. The April campout will be April 25-27 at Lake Corpus Christi State Park.
    4. The Court of Honor was held on March 25th and was a success.  Before the Awards Ceremony, there was a Friends of Scouting presentation and each scout received a Centennial Quality Unit Award badge.
    5. Summer Camp will be a Troop campout.
    6. The Merit Badge University is May 10th and many of the scouts have signed up.  Robin Armstrong is responsible for setting this up.
    7. Round Table is on the first Thursday at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church.
  2. Treasurer’s Report:
    1. Angelo gave copies of the Treasurer’s report as of 3/26/08 to each committee member.  A motion was made by Ron and seconded by Al to accept the Treasurer’s report. The motion was unanimously accepted.
    2. Angelo stated the Park Pass was $100.
  3. Fundraiser Chair Report:
    1. Al reported the popcorn commission check will be sent to the church. He will pick it up and give to Angelo.  The check will be for $307.
    2. Al said the taco breakfasts are good and would like to see more.  He will submit ideas to Mark before Mark has to submit the activity calendar in June.
  4. Unit Commissioner Report:
    1. Kathy reminded the committee that the Quality Unit Award goals need to be submitted in April.
    2. The District Round Table is on the 2nd Thursday in August at the University Methodist on DeZavala.
  5. Adjournment:
As there was no further business, Angelo made a motion to adjourn, Ron seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously accepted. The meeting was adjourned at 7:43 p.m.  The next meeting is scheduled for the third Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Healing Room.
