Opening:
The regular monthly meeting of the Troop 500 Committee was called to order at 7:07 p.m. in the Healing Room at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Present:
Ron Aguirre, Angelo Armondo, Mark Rayfield, Darlene Whitley, Linda Zaiontz
- Secretary’s Report:
- Linda Zaiontz read the July 16, 2008 minutes. Mark Rayfield made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Ron Aguirre seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously accepted.
- Scoutmaster’s Report:
- Mark Rayfield reported that a lock-in planned for August was cancelled due to not enough scouts and adults. The next lock-in is planned for September 19 & 20. Seven scouts and three adults have signed up so far. They will arrive at 6:00 pm on the 19th and leave at 3:00 pm on the 20th.
- The first taco Breakfast will be September 14th. The scouts should be there at 7:00 am. The next breakfast will be October 19th.
- Popcorn should be ordered the first of September. The scouts will sell popcorn October 26th. Al Puente is our Popcorn Kernel. September 26th is a Popcorn Sale.
- A possible Campout could be the third week in October or around the 11th.
- Treasurer’s Report:
- Angelo gave copies of the Treasurer’s reports as of 6/17/08 and 9/3/08 to each committee member. Several past scout accounts of scouts who are no longer active will be transferred into the main account. A motion was made by Mark and seconded by Linda to accept the Treasurer’s reports. The motion was unanimously accepted.
- Committee Chair’s Report:
- Darlene ordered 55 cases of poinsettia plants from Kleypac Greenhouse.
- Adjournment:
- As there was no further business, Mark made a motion to adjourn, Ron seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously accepted. The meeting was adjourned at 7:34 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for the third Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Rosary Room.
