Opening: 
The regular monthly meeting of the Troop 500 Committee was called to order at 7:02 p.m. in the Rosary Room at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.  

Present: 
Ron Aguirre, Angelo Armondo, Mark Rayfield, Art Villarreal, Darlene Whitley, Linda Zaiontz

1. Scoutmaster’s Report: 

1. Mark reported that February 8 is Scout Sunday.  The noon Mass will be represented. A motion was made by Mark Rayfield and seconded by Ron Aguirre to donate $500 to St. Marks on Scout Sunday.  A check for $500 will be given during the noon Mass.
2. The next campout will be February 20-22 at Potters Creek. With possibly 2-3 Webelos in attendance.  
3. The next Taco Breakfast will be March 1. There will be none in February. 
4. There is a crossover February 21 at Converse Park and another February 28 with the place to be announced.
5. A seventeen year old young man has expressed interest in joining the troop and then upon turning eighteen becoming an assistant scoutmaster.
6. The father of one of the Webelos has expressed interest in becoming an assistant scoutmaster.
7. Mark stated that the medical forms have changed.  Current forms need to be put on the web site.

2. Treasurer’s Report:
   
   
1. Angelo gave copies of the Treasurer’s reports dated 1/28/09 to each committee member.  A motion was made by Ron and seconded by Mark to accept the Treasurer’s report. The motion was unanimously accepted.
2. Mark gave Angelo two receipts each for $68 for the camp fees and another receipt for $145 to pay for the Pizza Hut Christmas Party. A motion was made by Linda to pay the receipts and seconded by Ron.  The motion was unanimously accepted.  Checks for all receipts were given to Mark.
    
3. Committee Chair’s Report:
   
   
1. Darlene stated we have plenty of neckerchiefs, slides and red tabs for the crossovers.  We need to order more Troop 500 patches off the web site. There is a minimum order of 12.
2. Darlene asked Mark and Angelo if they still had the email she sent to them in early December, listing how many poinsettia plants each boy sold.  They stated they would look for it to discuss how much credit each boy will receive for each plant at the next meeting in February. 
3. Art Villarreal discussed what he is trying to do to revive the Venture Crew.  He is working with Cindy Hamilton and the youth group to promote membership.  The Troop Committee could serve as the Crew Committee.  Art indicated he would be happy to accept that offer.  We asked him to provide us a status update of the crew at the next meeting.
    
4. Adjournment:
   
   
1. As there was no further business, Ron made a motion to adjourn, Mark seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously accepted. The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.  The next meeting is scheduled for the third Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Rosary Room at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.
